Today has been illuminating. We recently found out Kaitlyn has some pretty major food allergies to eggs, milk, soy, and peanuts. I been at a lost as to what to feed her, nearly all prepackaged foods have some allergy warning on it and shes picky. Today we found out we needed to ditch the formula shes on and that's all she's been wanted to eat lately, that and bread. And just when all seemed bad, I meet a couple of raw foodist at the grocery store, The Good Earth.
What they had to say felt right to me as a mom. Both foodists came to this diet because of food allergies. The one girl was allergic to milk and the other, a guy, had an even longer list than Kaitlyn. They appeared to be very healthy and fit and they make me excited to try it. Being a foodist requires a lot more effort and creativity. It all about combining fresh, natural foods, which is going to be a big change for us and our Mac and Cheese diet. What really excited me was the guy had a recipe for baby formula. Don't worry he's a creditable source, being a nutrition counselor at the Good Earth and being raised this ways himself. I have to say that was inspired timing.
I added a link to a blog they told me about, under "Other things of interest". In there you'll find some Raw Foodist recipes for anyone interested to see what it's like.
